On moving day, you should try to remove anything that will make the day more complicated. Two of the main things that can do this are pets and kids. Today is the day that you are going to have to coordinate a large scale logistical move, and even though you may be working with a professional removal company who will take care of most things, you still need to be on top of your game and ready to deal with any unforeseen issues.
It is strongly advisable to make arrangements with friends or family to help you by taking the pets and kids off your hands for a few hours while you are dealing with the house move. Obviously this option is not available to everyone, but if you can, try to make plans to free up your time so that you can concentrate on the move. Alternatively, teamwork, and taking turns to occupy the young ones may be the only option. Where possible get them to help you so that they feel part of the move, and try to turn it into a fun and exciting event for all the family.
